At your first visit our physiotherapists will conduct a full assessment, taking into consideration your full medical history, past injuries, work environment, home environment, any sport or recreational activities you take part in as well as your expectations and goals.

We assess problems with muscles, joints, cartilage, bones, ligaments, nerves and biomechanics.

If we feel you need to be referred to another medical practitioner we will refer you to the appropriate person.

Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy (ESWT) treatment is non-surgical and non-invasive. It is a fast, effective procedure using intense but very short energy waves to heal many chronic painful orthopedic conditions. Learn more

This includes all types of manual therapy such as mobilization, manipulation, muscle energy techniques, deep tissue work and soft tissue release. Our emphasis is on a hands on approach coupled with rehabilitation exercises and advise. We look at the body as a whole to ensure we address any negative movement patterns and rule out any compensations as a result of dysfunction elsewhere in the body.

Dry needling is a scientifically based treatment for myofascial trigger points based on western medicine research and principles. It is mainly used to treat pain and dysfunction caused by muscle problems. A very thin needle is used which is inserted into the myofascial trigger point.

The myofascial trigger point was defined by Dr. Travell and Simons as a ‘hyperirritable spot in skeletal muscle’. The trigger point is a painful spot found on a taut band in the muscle which produces local pain on compression but can also refer pain, inhibit muscle activation and restrict range of motion. Releasing these points can help restore normal pain free movement.

At Method Physio we help women to keep moving and pain free throughout pregnancy through manual therapy and soft tissue techniques, advise and anti natal Pilates and exercises classes we run in the clinic.

Pilates and Core Stability, Strength and Conditioning, Flexibility and stretching, postural retraining. Following the completion and during your treatment your physiotherapist will provide you with an individually tailored program to aid recovery and prevention from further injury or pain or you may be advised to attend one of the classes we run at the clinic to optimise your rehabilitation.

The aim of athletic screening is to help athletes and sports people to gain improvements in their performance. A series of tests are preformed on the athlete to highlight components of their training that if adjusted will help the athlete improve their performance and avoid injury.

At Method Physio we run exercise classes for the more mature adult which help with flexibility, strength and balance. The aim of the classes is to improve mobility, reduce pain, help improve strength and reduce the risk of falls. We also treat all pain related to joint problems and arthritis.
