Reopening after Covid-19

We have had many lovely emails and messages from people wishing us well and enquiring when we will reopen in the last number of weeks. I am so touched by all your support and am so grateful for every message I have received even if I haven’t responded to them all.

Chartered Physiotherapists are classified as essential services. Recent guidelines issued by the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists (ISCP) in conjunction with the HPSC have allowed us to formulate a strategy to re-open the clinic on a limited basis. We will reopen on the 18th May and continue video consultations in the meantime. For now we would like patients attending the clinic to be Emergency Cases only.

We will be implementing the following steps:

  • If you require an appointment we will speak to you over the phone first. This will allow us to determine if hands on treatment is required. If we can help you by giving advice or exercises that might remove the need for treatment in person we will try this first with you. If we deem treatment is required we will take your subjective history over the phone which will allow us to immediately move to hands on assessment and treatment when you present to the clinic
  • Your physiotherapist will wear PPE which includes a mask, an apron and gloves while treating you in keeping with guidelines. These will be disposed of appropriately after each patient. We will ask you, the client, to wear a mask and we will provide you with a mask on entering the clinic.
  • Will take your temperature on entering the clinic.
  • Hand washing etiquette will be practiced by both parties
  • Surfaces and all contact points will be cleaned down between clients with recommended solutions
  • We will stagger patient appointments to facilitate this and this will also reduce any contact within the clinic between clients
  • We will try to limit your hands-on contact time in the clinic to 15-20 mins. This can be achieved by your initial phone assessment being completed and we will use other modalities as part of your treatment such as  acupuncture and red light therapy to reduce contact after your hands on treatment.

If you have further questions on this please do not hesitate to contact us. If you have an injury you would like advice on or would like to see if treatment is required, please let us know.

Please phone 045857444 to make an appointment. We will look at opening online bookings in the coming weeks.

Stay safe, stay healthy and make the most of the wonderful weather!

Kind regards,
Aoife Murphy
